I’d go to classes, work, the grocery store or even the park with my son, and often somehow ended up with a crowd of eager people around me (and this was even before the interesting hair which, almost sadly, is back to “normal” now). All I’d do was start talking about being online, getting businesses up and running, getting publicity, brainstorming ideas for people’s businesses…  I’m an information junkie; I love learning new things, playing around with them, then teaching other people all about it.

Hence ‘In Jodie’s Brain’ – because really, how do you put a label on what I do?

“Who are you and why should we use you?”

I have been online since 1998 and have run several successful online (international) companies. I have been written about, mentioned in and interviewed by such media as the Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, Inc Magazine, Esquimalt News, Times Colonist, Your Mac Life and Call For Help. Once, in a 4-week period, I did 65 live radio interviews around the world. At one point with my old site, when you went to Google and searched simply for “Jodie”, I was the number one result – even beating out Jodie Foster (starting from scratch again, using organic techniques, I’ve gone from being ‘nowhere’ to now on page 3 – working my way up again!). This was all because of my online ventures. I know a lot of things. Even if there are things I don’t know, I know how to go about finding it. Have you ever seen those commercials with Dex? That’s me.

I also know how to use a cash register, give the best customer service ever and LOVE making in-store displays (window or otherwise). On top of all that, I am an excellent schmoozer and can be put in any social situation. Heck, I can even drive a Bobcat and put a splint on a broken elbow.
